Photo of the day: Older Than Dirt

I found this fossil in a nearby neighborhood, just lying in the dirt next to the sidewalk. I have no clue where it came from, but I have always loved it.

Shale or limestone? Couldn't decide but did remember I hadn't had a glass of wine in weeks. So, a few sips later of Dommani Ecco, I still can't decide. Cheers!
