I Am Not Crazy

I've always harbored a bit of a resentment towards those who think I'm "a crazy cat lady." This New York Times piece explains it nicely, thank you.

The article makes a good point that cats form a loop of affection with their owner that excludes the rest of the world. I've always felt this loop makes everyone else an outsider while dogs make everyone an insider by remaining open to other people.

We would all rather be an insider.

My cat Larisa and I are working together on getting her to figure out how to use her cat door to go outside. She gets how to come in. This collaboration is very private. She doesn't even want me to know I'm helping her out.
